In simple terms, if the numbers on the left side of either of the 9 column groups in the chart are low compared with those on the right side of that group then it means that an earthquake could occur near the location of the earthquake on that line, or somewhere to the north or the south along the longitude line of that earthquake.

The Earthquake Data Fingerprint numbers mentioned on the Web page relate to things such as the positions of the sun and the moon in the sky. And they can be used to link earthquakes and warning signals. They indicated that a strong warning signal detected on February 18, 2005 was a good match for the destructive March 20, 2005 earthquake in Japan.

In my opinion this technology works. It is not intended to detect the approach of every earthquake. But it has the ability to detect at least some of the destructive ones. Earlier this year governments around the world were sent a detailed report regarding how to interpret those data. And some 100 to 200 people presently download them each day.
