Meteorologic bomb coming
#1
I missed a chance to post my weather prediction a couple of weeks ago, when I was telling family members there would be another major winter storm affecting SE New England around the equinox. I may have said something like March 18-22 or 23 (this one will be 25th-26th).

It is forecast to be a meteorologic bomb, intensifying 3x faster than the minimum to be a bomb, Wikipedia definition of a bomb:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bomb_(meteorology)

The coming storm is forecast to have a pressure drop from 996 to 960 millibars in 12 hours:

(Click through the 6 and 12 hour intervals)

The far offshore waters have hurricane force wind warnings. While 65 or 70 knot wind forecasts for Nor-easters can happen a couple of times a year, there is an area expecting 70 to 80 knot winds:

These last 2 links will likely change with time.

The storm is forecast to be relatively far offshore, so on the island we will just have gale conditions and 2-5 " snow (5-12 cm).
