4.1 South Carolina/Georgia

My first scientific abstract was on reservoir-induced seismicity in the area of this quake, but a little bit west near lake Russell and what was called Clark Hill reservoir until it was renamed for a segregationist. I was Georgia Tech Masters student 1986-1987, and was measuring fracture intensity in an area of little outcrop. The link shows a 1972 M4.5, and 1974 M4.3. There is a reservoir in South Carolina that triggers quakes as reservoir level changes. I don't know how my memory is after almost 30 years, but may be Monticello. OK, Googled, is that: see second link.

For my first talk, it was the last talk of the session, but people started streaming in for my talk. Turns out they had added a talk on the Mexico City deadly quake right after mine, and they were coming for that one.
