I don't know the true reason why ACE keeps going off, but if I extrapolate the time differences between the 4th Aug (earliest record I have) and the present (29th), it indicates two locations where sunrise and sunset times have remained the same over this period, so.....

This prediction is for the Antarctic region below NZ at bearing 65' S by 177' 30' W +/- 3'  (ACE on)

Second location is off the coast of Western Australia at bearing 38' S by 121' E +/- 3'  (ACE off)

I have decided to re-predict on the Med again at 35' N by 29' E +/- 3'  (data indicates it is still active)

This is a bit of a gamble, so longitude will only count if an approx latitude is forthcoming. All locations are mag 5 - 6.5 and will run this until 00:00 ut 12th Sept.

.................................................................................................................................................................................

I am terminating the remaining time on the Antarctic region at 65' S by 177' 30' W .... the related signal structure failed to repeat after the 5.8 NZ event at 22:04 ut on 31st ( same time the ACE satellite feed stopped Exclamation ).

I am replacing it with another Antarctic region location at bearing 72' S by 152' W under the same conditions. My maths say this bearing is correct, even though this location is far from any tectonic boundaries !

As a side note ... 29' E came on heavy in my data this morning during the eclipse, it also shows as an increase in the ACE proton monitor at 10:04 ut 1st Sept ( exactly 12 hours after the NZ event ... strange !!). At 10:04 ut, centre of the sun was on 28' 59' E longitude (the opposite being 152' W).   Another signal in my data showing stronger reception than 29' E at the moment is 37' 17' W or opposite at 142' 43' E (possibly Japan). I would hazard a guess that one of these bearings will result in a 6+ event in the next 24 hours.

16:23 ut 1st Sept (got this one right Blush )

M 7.1 NZ 16:38 ut ... My timing is impeccable for putting my foot in it ! right guess .. wrong place = bad call
