Human language is far too ambiguous for a computer to easily understand. Why do you think 'legalese' was invented? Or look at the language of science. Words are used in very precise ways to avoid ambiguity.

And that's not even taking into account the fact that some (most?) people don't use words in their proper meanings anyway.

I think it will be a long time before we can talk to a computer like on Star Trek. It's getting there, though.
