[Island Chris]

There was just a M7.8 strike-slip earthquake far west of the Sumatra subduction zone. This may be in a similar area to the M8.6 and M8.2 strike-slip quakes of a few years ago. From memory (I'm not checking), there may be some poorly understood motion between the Australian and Indian plates in this region.
