6.9 off Ferndale - PennyB - 03-10-2014

Was reading in bed (I've got a lousy cold) when this one got me up. Both hubby and I felt two distinct rolling shocks. We're in Mt. Shasta City, way inland.

Already reported---first time I've had to do that up here. I'm waiting for people to call me and ask if the volcano is acting up!

Just noticed this. Was busy watching Star Trek episodes.

Good thing it was well offshore. I experienced Northridge's 6.7 from only 40 miles away.

I'm glad you reported in. I was curious if you might have felt it.

Is strike-slip or oblique strike-slip. Good to see some posts: mine yesterday was the first in about 10 days. What happened to Canie?

I think she's been busy with her cat shows. Yeah, we could use more posts, more posters. But we seem to be a pretty niche community in that we are mostly scientifically oriented. It's been my observation that the choir tends not to preach to itself. Now, on other boards where there's a majority of crankery, there's ton's of back patting and "me too" posts, and the occasional long winded battle (with commensurate vehement and vulgar personal attacks) when someone actually stands up and questions the cranks.

I may not always respond to your posts, Chris, but I enjoy reading the tidbits you share with us.

Yes.. I've been busy with the cat world primarily. I went to Arlington Heights for the weekend - near Chicago - the land is still frozen there while it was a nice 88 and sunny at home. I even got 19 degrees, windy and snow flurries saturday night!

Back home now in time for the 4.4 near Encino.
