Obviously if you are reading this, all is fixed. My host did a routine update to PHP on my server and the current version of MyBB (the forum software) is not compatible with it. Support kindly reverted to an older version of PHP (the language MyBB is written in) so the board is back up and running.
Obviously this gives me new incentive for me to update the forum software so that I can stay up-to-date with my host's capabilities.
Sorry if anyone had withdrawals.
