About 150-160 km deep, so presumably within the subducting slab. Is oblique strike-slip. If it was low-angle thrust and shallower and to the west, then it would be of a bit more concern, because despite some M8+ quakes (in 2005 and later?), Kerry Sieh thought this area (Padang). is still very dangerous, in a special talk at AGU meeting almost a decade ago.
