National Geographic: "The War on Science" - Island Chris - 03-06-2015

The March National Geographic has a cover story "The War on Science"

The link is to some of the text and a reproduction of an actual 19th century map title "the square and stationary earth"

One of the points in the article is that having more education does not make any difference in what you believe.

I don't think any of this is harmless: I see it as slippery slope to witch burning, Nazis, ISIS. Although I have not thought this out in any detail.

I'm glad you posted this. I was hemming and hawing over doing so myself.

It's also the cover article to the March issue. I've been a subscriber to NatGeo for over 35 years.

Anyway, this reminds me I need to finish up my letter to the editor regarding this article. I have few points to add.
