The left-lateral transform plate boundary between the Caribbean and North American plates had a M7.6 strike-slip earthquake. The E-W nodal plane is left lateral, and the aftershocks are aligned E-W, so must be the plate boundary.


Same plate boundary that goes near Jamaica, cuts through Hispaniola, and changing to oblique subduction then subduction, beneath Puerto Rico and the islands farther east.
